“Construction of Wellfield Area Ductile Iron Pipe Line Network”

Project is to provide facilities to supply additional urban water to the Greater Amman Area from the Rum Aquifer in Southern Jordan, a distance of approximately 325km from Amman, having an annual flow of 100 MCM/yr and operate and maintain such facilities for a period of twenty-five (25) years.
HAE Package is related with the “70 km Ductile Iron Pipeline Network at Wellfield (including earthworks, civil works, ROW, service roads, Workmanship for Cathodic Protection and F.O Cable Transmission Systems)”.

Geographic Location & Climate:
Wellfield Area is located on approximately 17,823,398 square meters of land place Southern Jordan, a distance of approximately 325km from Amman a characteristic is flatland & desert (elevation about 800 meter above sea level).
MUDAWARRA has a hot desert climate unbroken sunshine for the whole year due to the stable descending air and high pressure and very low rainfall average annual rainfall 10mm, southern dry wind from Arabia ,average high temperature 40o & low 25o the geographic location of project is (29o 27’4.59”N, 35o 45’0.90”E).

Scope of work :

#1 CONSTUCTION OF SERVICE ROAD
#2 DUCTILE IRON PIPE INSTALLATION
#3 FIBER OPTIC CABLE INSTALLATION & CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEM
#4 CONSTRUCTION OF BLOW OFF (WASHOUT) AND CONSTRUCTION OF DRAINAGE OUTLET STRUCTURES
#5 CONSTUCTION OF SERVICE ROAD construction a service road base course , sub base course ,surface dressing miscellaneous work & Accessories (signs board , loos riprap,.....etc)
Base course volume = 242,372 Cubic Meter
Sub-Base course volume = 280,224 Cubic Meter
surface dressing area = 217,240 Square Meter

The project comprises the construction of water main lines systems including Naour Interchange to Dabouq Reservoir Main Line, Madaba Bridge Pump Station – To Abu Alanda Reservoir, Jizza area and Railway. The details of the pipelines are as the following:
13620 m long steel pipes with diameter of 1448 mm
8625 m long steel pipes with diameter of 1295 mm
2020 m long steel pipes with diameter of 1676 mm

Major items to be constructed, erected, tested and pre-commissioned as the following:
1. Trench Excavation which contain excavation in rock soil and clay with total excavation quantity of (350,000 m3).
2. Install, wield , test, and pre-commissioning activities for the pipelines including fittings and pipe appurtenances.
3. External and /or internal pipe Coating Repairmen’s for the defects happened during transportation and/or erection.
4. Field External and Internal Coatings.
5. Installation of pipeline fittings and branching connections.
6. Installation of Valves
7. Construction of Valve Chambers complete including earthworks, concrete works, precast covers and metal works.
8. Connection to existing Dabouq Reservoir
9. Backfilling of excavated Trench using several type of material such as single size aggregate, selected material, base coarse . . .etc. with total amount of (250,000 m3)
10. Clean-up & Reinstatement of ROW
11. Cathodic protection System and Fiber Optic Cable InstallationWorks
12. Construction of Blow off (22 washout) and Construction of 22 Drainage Outlet Structures
13. Appling several non distractive tests on welded joints (Automatic Ultrasonic test, or Radiographic test and Visual test, Magnetic Particle test, Dye Penetrant test ).
